The story is narrated by Hieda-no-Are and O-no-Yasumaro. The story is divided into chapters entitled "Kunizukurihen," "Siblings," "Nenokunihen," and "Kami no Descenthen," in which Ishinomori depicts episodes such as the Ishiyado of Heaven and the Yamata-no-orochi, incorporating his manga artist's ideas!
