In 1974, a young baseball fan, Maijiro, was invited by his boss, Umeyoshi, to enter the world of ticket scalping after Shigeo Nagashima retired. "People call us scalpers, but we sell talismans. We'll help people who want to see good plays but can't. In return, if we show you a boring play, we'll have to take down our talisman sign." Enamored by his boss' words, Maijiro devotes himself to his job as a ticket scalper, despite being targeted by gangsters.
