Fifteen years ago, Earth was abandoned by God. Since then, no creature has been able to give birth nor fully die, leading to a dire catastrophe. Hampnie murders all the residents in Ai's village, leaving her completely alone and traumatized. With no place left to call home, she decides to follow Hampnie on his journey. As she learns more about Hampnie, Ai realizes that there is a hidden motive driving his seemingly cruel actions—and even her own existence may not be as simple as she previously thought.
